Drug delivery platforms
Changing how a drug is absorbed, not just how it looks.
Self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS) form fine oil-in-water emulsions in the gut and improve oral absorption of lipophilic drugs. Orally disintegrating films and wafers dissolve without water. Extrusion–spheronisation pellets with Wurster coating allow enteric and targeted release.
